Ellen - Along with the post below as a method of finding the D/T, often times the mortgage was filed in the wrong county, especially when the city in which the address lies is split between counties.  If that is the case - check the other county in which the city lies.  That is what I do - and I produce a report from 2 counties.  Also, what could be involved is a name change from the time the first D/T was filed and the name you were given, a wrong legal in the D/T etc.
