Starting out just me in 1997, I'm now an S-corp.  My company (that's just me under the corporate veil) covers 3 counties in Vermont, which translates to about 60 Vermont towns since each town holds its own land records. Last year my 24-year-old daughter decided to work with me, how lucky can a mother be?  She is moving in September to a different part of the state, so we will have two offices and between us we will be covering half the state or about 125 land records.  We have maybe 12 steady clients who provide the majority of the work, but we have lots of companies who send one or two jobs a year.  In addition, we are part of a network called the Vermont Independent Title Abstractors' League, with whom we work cooperatively.
