Good advise Alan. I think many people thing their virus protection software protects them from spyware. It doesn't. The first time I used SpyBot, I was shocked to learn I had three programs tracking my activities on the web and sending them to companies I thought were legitimate. These programs were not as malicious as some. They sell the information to marketing companies. There are others that steal your personal information for resale to indentity thieves.Some virus programs are doing this as well.

I use McAfee for virus protection. You didn't mention this program. Do you have an opionion on McAfee's virus protection software? As with any virus protection software, you can never be sure if all the viruses are found. I wonder if Norton might detect something McAfee has missed.
