A vendor management company manages networks of vendors. In our case, the vendors are abstractors, but they could also manage appraisers, and signing agents. Often times they provide other services, like flood certs., AVMs (a form of valuation without an appraisal), etc. We generally only concern ourselves with the abstracting part of it.
I guess to make it simple - A VMC is a middle man ording large volumes of searches to provide their clients with one point of contact for a large region.
If anyone has a better definition, please share it.
