Maybe Ohio is different, but we actually have more search options on our recorder's office Web site than we do at the courthouse.  I can conduct all of the same searches online that I can at the courthouse, plus the online system will allow the use of wild card characters.  The computers at the courthouse don't for some reason. 

I still don't rely on it, but when I have to find a quick document, it is often easier to do online.
