there was no insult intended, but blaming the government for everything bad that happens is totally off the charts.

Guess what? The world is a constantly changing place and there will be NATURAL events like this that are going to happen.  There will be other hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and droughts that cannot be stopped, that cannot be altered and cannot be prevented.  People can be warned as soon as possible and they can make a choice, but when time is cut short, then how can you blame anyone?

A good chuck of New Orleans is 6-10 feet below sea level and unless you build monster walls which Mother Nature will just knock down, you will not be able to prevent flooding in that city.
