the media did not bring those supplies in, others did, otherwise they would be boardcasting all over the place that they did.  Supplies would be coming in regardless of the media pointing the need out.

The citizens were told in advance to evacuate and were told this hurricane was dangerous.  It comes down to a choice of material things over safety.  Putting troops on the ground during a hurricane is only asking them to die a needless death to protect property that would be destoryed by the storm.

A house to house search to force evacuations is too time consuming as is bringing in buses when you only have a day or two notice that the city is the target of this terrible storm.

I did not assign blame, but I will not let an unjust accusation slide just because.  If others can do better then by-golly step up to the plate.

This mentality of would-of, could-of, should-of and "I am owed something" is getting old, we have become a nation of whinning-victims.  They should be doing that for me, they should be doing this for me.  What happened to the nation that picked itself up by it's own boot-straps and carried on?

People, and not just the government, are rallying together to provide aid, food, supplies and comfort.  This is where our best moments can be shown.  Instead we constantly complain that it should be done better, quicker, cheaper.

I agree Doug, this should not be about assigning blame, but about helping people.
