   Denald McCarthy here, Pres. of the Massachusetts Independent Title Examiners Association.  I just read your article "the royal shaft" and would like you to know that the MITEA association is begining to address these same issues regarding fees, liability and E&O coverage.  As you and I discussed once before, much of the concern and involvement needs to begin on the state level, by title examiners, who are not affiliated with nor subsidized by either law firms or the title insurance industry. And then "band together" as you will, on a national level, via NALTEA. You have hit the nail on the head and I will read your message at our next meeting in September and pass along our suggestions as well.
  Although our association is still young, our membership is growing rapidly as independent title examiners in Massachusetts try to prepare for the future and realize the need to be proactive.  MITEA looks forward to working with NALTEA in the near future.
