Oh my I started my abstracting business in 1999 and back then we got the same amount for a title search that we do today - #1 that is sad altogether; and #2 gas prices have more than doubled.  I agree about the pizza places putting a surcharge of 1.00 per delivery now and on the news tonight a man who does those sandwich delivery trucks or whatever just added 1.00 to each of his meals.  A man at the courthouse who does trucking deliveries said that they always go up and down with gas prices.  We should too - part of our service is delivery - it is not like you drive back and forth to work and that is it - it is you drive, and you drive, and you drive some more.  I'm thinking of taking our DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) a bus on railroad tracks down to Dallas now - lol - actually for safety as much as gasoline.   It is my only southern county - it is much safer east, west and north of me. 

I did raise some of my services to help with nothing raised in what 6 years but have not raised title searches.  I think we all need to do that - but I've talked to some people on the board and they went down.  I personally don't respect people that went down - they hurt the entire industry.  And now I don't see how they are going to make it with the gasoline prices - maintaining prices as Kevin said has been so hard.
