I think, "we can close anything, any time, as long as we have a closing PACKAGE."

I just love when they want you to wait around until 9 pm for the "package" to show up and you don't even have closing figures to do a HUD-1?

In NJ, we have regulated rates for title agencies, so as settlement agents, we follow the same.  We add for out of office, for after regular business hours, for edocs and if the closing is after 8 pm, we add a premium charge.  Luckily the state also provides for excessive travel time to and from or excessive closing time (over 90 minutes to travel there & close it) garners an additional per hour rate.

The "any time anywhere" thing sounds great until you have some bonehead calling you on Christmas Eve when you are on vacation, 1300 miles away, saying, why didn't you close so and so on Friday when you were supposed to.  And you have to explain that you didn't have a closing package by 8 pm on Friday and to your knowledge (as of Monday, today, Christmas Eve, where you are vacationing 1300 miles away), it is your understanding, because YOU have 24/7 access to email, that the package was NEVER sent. And you have to advise bonehead he needs to call that lender today (yeah sure, like THEY are there) to find out why it wasn't sent).

"If I have a closing package, I can close any time, any where."  Merry Christmas, bonehead.

That was NOT a rant! <grin>
