The only way I know how to respond to that is to refuse to compromise.  My services come at a premium.  You send the volume, you get the discount.  You don't wanna pay, find another abstractor. 

I've been seeing a lot of complaints on this board about the lousy rates these VM's are paying, but whose fault is that?  Is it the client's fault for looking for the lowest price, or is it our own fault for selling ourselves short?

I'm sure I've lost clients because my fees are higher, but I haven't really lost anything in the long run.  I, for one, refuse to trip over the hundred-dollar bills to pick up loose change.

But, that's just me.
