Again there lays the problem. There is only so much the few that have taken an active role can do. It has been told over and over that 20% of the people do 80% of the work. That 20% can only do so much. Board members are doubling as committee chairs, some committees have no members at all or only have one member besides the chairperson, which is a board member.
Other portions of NALTEA's mission also rest with the certification program, i.e. recognition in the industry that NALTEA is starting to receive, other associations wanting to work with NALTEA, proposed E and O discounts to members that become certified, marketing efforts of members that can lay claim to that certification, etc...
We realize that everyone has their own business to run, so do we, but we can not do it alone. IF, only 10% of the abstractors on SOT would join NALTEA and donate ONE and only ONE hour every other week that would equally out to two people working eight hours a day, every day, on NALTEA.
So everybody, is one hour every other week to help your profession as a whole, which would in-turn benefit you, too much to ask???
