God help the people in La, Ms, Al. It will be forever embedded in my mind, the guy w/a little child said he had held on to his wife's hand as she told him to let her go and to take care of the kids; the reporter even crying. And then you see the disgusting looters. Scott, not sure-but believe Germany offered help. I am upset about the widespread panic about the gas--people were lined up--4 lines w/about 30 vehichles each at a Kroger gas station, for instance. (Meanwhile a tanker truck pulled up to refill the tanks). I saw people with 3 gas cans in the trunk. Everywhere I drove today, the gas stations had big lines....from 2.70 to 3.79 a gallon at first. Then it was going for over $4 a gal., some places according to the news, 5 and 6 bucks a gallon. One gas station I frequent, (got a paper & lottery) ran out of gas because people were going a little nuts and he said there is no shortage and their fuel truck would be there as usual. Finally, our governor here, declared an emergency and gas stations prices are frozen. This is ridiculous--I think the devastation from Katrina, her victims, should be more of our concern. It saddens me to see our fellow Americans acting like such buttholes, the looting, price gouging and all. God bless all of you in the distressed areas. I will certainly do what I can to help.
