Red vision does not state their system will do the search, it states they have developed technology that will allow for more concise indexing.  If there is anyone out there that thinks their county does not have issues with indexing and verification you are lucky.  Why is it a bad thing to think that in the future searches would not need to be done at each individual County.  How much actual time would you save by doing searches without having to travel to and from counties, walking from one floor to another floor in the county to check one index.  How much time would be saved if you did not have to stand in line to wait for a copier that the county does not maintain in working condition at all times and does not make the cleanest copy; or a terminal so that you can sit down and search the system; or a book that someone else is searching?   How much time do you spend in a single day doing things related to searching but not actually producing the product you get paid for.  In Onondaga County NY a good searcher can search 20-30 A paper last owners in a day because of the way the records are indexed.  Most counties are not thoroughly indexed and having been to a NYS County Clerks Convention;  I can tell you from personal experience the clerks will never unify to one computer  system or indexing organization.  What is the difference in records being indexed thoroughly at the county itself or being indexed in a independently owned central location.  What is the difference in a company buying and indexing the records and a title plant in Texas or California that is indexed by plat, they buy the records daily and maintain them?  There are plants in California that do not require searching, all you do is put in the legal description and their system pulls all relevant documents.  All the examiner does is look through what the system pulls up, same thing in Texas as I understand it.  David I do not agree with the bulk release of info to whomever wants it, but controlled release or a centralization of the information will only level the playing field.  Those abstractors/searchers/examiners that work at the highest levels of speed and accuracy will carry the industry forward and the slackers will fall off because they cannot keep up. Maybe it is because I am younger and I grew up with computers but I do not understand why no one sees the positive side of this technological advance.  The way title searching is currently accomplished is so far behind the technological times we either need to update ourselves or be pushed aside by the future.  If we cannot keep up with our industry they will find other ways to do business that do not include the research we do and it has already started.  Either we need to stop this runaway train driven by the financial powerhouses of our economy or we need to start giving it subtle nudges to change the direction in a way we are more comfortable with.  Personally I do not think the financial institutions of our world will slam on the breaks because a few people do not think they are being smart or fair in the way they go about making billions and billions of dollars.  Sorry I did not mean to take that long in getting my point across.
