Yes Robert I wouldn't want to see water myself... but unless an earthquake with a sunami hits they probably would be fine. It least that area is above sea level and does not have to depend on levy's. We in CA have our own worries with the big earthquake that is predicted. Like so many places it is very difficult to evacuate many of our populated areas. San Franciso is an island and would be a nightmare to get out.  We are more than just touch feely here and there are some good evacuee programs in place. They practice a lot but who knows what may happen if that earthquake hits.
