Put a county minimum on any county other than your home county - adding a little more as more miles out go.  Then they can give you one order and pay the minimum or find someone else.  I have never had a problem with that.  Sometimes my companies pay my minimum for one order and sometimes they don't.  Also, every once in awhile asking a client to reassign hasn't stopped work coming to me.
