Source of Title Forums: Tammy Scanner question... again!

Tammy I took a look at the ScanSnap and if I am understanding it correctly the docs become either a PDF or a JPG. Are these pdf or jpg files basically pictures... not text? Are you able to do text search to find something? I am sorry to keep asking questions but I am a novice with this and want to do a better job finding a scanner this time. At least the other one I bought I can use as a fax and we needed a new one... just a lousey scanner. The ScanSnap sounds like a great little machine.
