Robert: Thank you for the note .
I kind of feel like an outsider looking in with the information I have shared about the on line systems- you are the first to entertain that there might be some potential there. I know we have a lot of people that utilize it here in Northern Virgina, just they are not being vocal here on SOT.
We must have it pretty good with our counties cause the largest one , Fairfax County, has all of the docs that were previously in the record room now available on line- that goes back to 1732, so we can access everything we need- just have to be able to interpret the hand writing from back then.
The county tax information is also usually linked to the secure sites also and they are as current at last week- no tax info is kept in the record room anymore- no need because it would always be outdated just from a "print" factor and time /resources required aspect. There is no logical reason to maintain two systems for the same product , just wastes money doing that.

Now that that is taken care of, I am committed to the on line systems , and am able to streamline my business and the time required to complete titles for my customers, they are all usually amazed at the speed , accuracy and quality of the product they receive. I do work with these companies and ask for input from them that would make things work better and more efficiently for them-so the road goes both ways- Which lead me to this next portion of this post- I am almost completely paperless- usually one piece of paper for each title I do. and all this is due to an amazing software product called "Paperport", makes life so much easier- You should check it out, everything you do can be worked with right on your computer- saved and easily backed up- printed, faxed, emailed and and very easy retrieval for follow up calls.I have used this for about the last 5 years now and can access any title I have done within seconds and answer questions  in real time, no need for "I'll call you back on that" anymore.I think I will start a separate discussion on this since it will have a tremendous impact on those that start using this or any similar paper handling software.( and I learned about this all from a printer breakdown one weekend and I was forced to see what I could do with the program-since I had to fax something out on Monday morning with no alternative other than go buy another printer-thank goodness for that) I have shown this to a number of competing companies down here and the response has been the same as mine- "how did we get along without this before!"-
again, I'll start a separate discussion and see what goes from there-there seem to be a lot of inventive people on SOT and this might be something that can be a big benefit to them.
Thanks again, Steve Meinecke
