Your PS made me laugh!  Hopefully it did Kevin too.  I think that the abstractor probably paid more attention to just the cancellation stamp than to check in the document whether or not it was the same lender.  These are things that I think could be easily overlooked when pushed by our clients to return searches as fast as we can.  I am one of those that don't push well though.  You get quality with my work because I won't let anyone "rush" me to get it done.  Never quite understood the "rush" pressure one would put on another when it is a known fact that pressure and stress causes memory lapses and mistakes and they want a good search?  Go figure!
