I have always used "abstractor" ....abstracter just doesn't look right to me for some reason.  

As far as turnaround time; just running the job - with bare bones preliminary examination takes about 30 minutes; barring complications such as resubdivisions; chain breaks and missing books and/or tapes.  Course if any one of those occur - you are looking at a totally different time frame.  I love good 'ole WD/PMM; WD/PMM; etc., etc.  And totally hate the names Jones, Smith, Williams, Johnson - especially those with first names of Robert, Steve, Ann, etc,etc.  I am sure you get my meaning!
