I think that it is very different for every person who will read this. If the plats are stored in the county it can't be much of a big deal, which may be how most states/counties operate. However, assume that you work in an area where the plats are only kept in the town it orginates from, such as some towns in Massachusetts, and not at the registry of deeds. My question on this issue is: Why are they needed for a refinance? What could come up on a plat map that would affect the owner's ability to get the loan? Is it frivolous info or neccesary? (I'm seriously curious about this, it isn't meant to sound sarcastic)
