I loved "Get Smart".  I thought the cone of silence was hilarious every time they used it.  I also always got a kick out of agent 13?, the fellow that was always in trash cans, or file drawers, etc., doing surveillance work.
When I called my brother with the news, he said much the same as Patrick, first Gilligan, now Maxwell Smart, we are losing the great ones.
I don't know if everyone remembers, but the writers for Get Smart were Buck Henry and Mel Brooks.
