I said earlier that here on the coastline.... our homeowners insurance companies have come up with cleaver ways of not helping out with the damages from hurricanes.  One change made about 10 years ago is that the flooding is not covered UNLESS you have paid for flood insurance.  Some policies won't cover wind damage.  Problem is homeowners never read and understand their homeowners policies.  One hurricane took over 20 shingles off the front of my roof.  It was "enough shingles missing to be covered"  however, the insurance company would not replace but the front side of my house or 1/2 of the roof because the back side did not lose shingles.  So from the air one could see that my shingles in the front did not exactly match the shingles in the back.    At first they wanted to just replace those 20 shingles until they found that the color could not be matched.  Years before the insurance company would have replaced the whole roof.  There was something weird about the trees too, but I don't remember it now.  This abstractor is lucky in one way that she can still locate her land.  That is my worry and concern about who is going to do the title work and get it all surveyed and back in the hands of the homeowner.  People are going to be losing their property rights.
