The only right way to approach the pricing issue is to set your prices and stick to them. We furnish a Pricing Grid to every new client and have them sign an Agreement which states, among other things, that they have received a copy of it. That way, there's no confusion or misunderstanding.
Our policy is simple: you want our service, you pay our price; you send the volume you get the discount; you don't wanna pay our price, find another abstractor. To date, we've never had a client even ask us to lower our fees. It also seems as though we attract the better paying clients that way.
I, for one, refuse to trip over $100 bills to pick up loose change.
But, that's just me.
