That is unbelievable.  Please read the thread 'A word about prices.' 

There are a couple of possibilities here... 1) they are lying to you to try to get your prices down, or 2) they are using a very inexperienced abstractor.  I find it completely unbelievable that any abstractor that knows what they are doing, comprehends the liability of the work, and has E&O coverage would do current owners for $25.

If someone wants to do them that cheap, let them.  They will become so overwhelmed that they can't handle the work load, or they will eventually cause someone a big loss and lose the work anyway.

Hang in there... continue to offer quality work for a fair price (if you can get a fair price) and your clients will appreciate it.
