I didn't receive an email from you, but I don't doubt that Paperport has improved.  It is a great product for the price and I'm sure it will handle most of the needs of a small office.  We chose a more robust system because we needed something that was networkable and allow multiple simultaneous users.  This allows our secretary to scan and send orders to clients, and I am able to pull up files from my office at the same time to answer any client questions that arise.

There were a lot of other differences too, but I'm sure Paperport has changed quite a bit over the years and may have added a lot of the features that I thought it was lacking back then.

If nothing else, Paperport is great way to give imaging a try.  If you like the new work-flow, you can always look into other options if you find it doesn't do everything you would like it to.
