Anybody else out there have land records offices without indoor plumbing?  Welcome to Vermont! 

It seems to me that taking pages across the street to photocopy is the worst possible disservice to the quality of the land records.  Not to impugn abstractors, but do those pages get wet in the rain?  Crumpled while dodging traffic?  Slipped back into the wrong book by accident?  Lost through the sheer forgetfulness of too much to do too quickly?  This, to me, would be the basis for the lawsuit:  reckless endangerment of public records.  Isn't there a law against that?
