It would be interesting to hear the VM's take on this issue. They participate in this forum, but have been noticeably silent on the problem. One of them that is active on this board recently called me to ask if I could reduce my document retrieval fee to $15.00. She was not shocked when I said no because she had received the same answer from several of my competitors in this area.

Their silence in this matter seems to suggest that they are completely unaware of the growing problem, or in the alternative demonstrates a complete lack of interest in the number of title abstractors that are leaving the occupation. It would be interesting to hear how they plan to deal with the declining number of professionals in the future. If they plan to rely on electronic title plants, it would indeed be useful knowledge. We can all start planning alternate business routes to follow. In our case we have already started.
