I've wondered this as well as their always seems to be a greater number of reads of the original message than there is of the replies. You would think they would be more even.
I wonder though if this is more a feature of the software that counts the number of times a message is opened. Before I can read a reply I have to first open the original message. I wonder if this is being counted as a second read of the original message.
If their are ten replies and I read them seperately as they become available, I will pass through the original message ten times in the process of getting to each reply. Are these ten pass-throughs be counted as new reads?
