Rob, you're forgetting one thing...this is government in action.  Government and common sense are mutually exclusive.  I'm just glad you guys voted down those proposals that would have changed the way elections are regulated in your state.

You are correct about the opposition from the NAR.  I got a lot of info about this proposal from the PA Association of Realtors® website.

I actually favor the plan which uses state sales tax revenue to replace the school property tax.  Sales tax is really the only truly fair tax, because everyone pays it.

In fact, at the national level, there's a proposal to completely eliminate the Federal Income Tax and establish a national sales tax called the FairTax.  It is 100% revenue neutral and provides full funding at current levels for all Federal programs, including Social Security and Medicare.  More information about the FairTax can be found at www.fairtax.org.

The only way politicians can screw us over is if we let them.  The more people who start speaking up, the less chance there is of that happening.
