Hi Patrick,
Here is what I find in your post, "In some cases, on-line records are actually better than the official courthouse records" and this "If using title plant records on-line (of equal or greater quality than the courthouse records) happens " Your right, you didn't say in your area but I assumed it was in counties where you had some experience.
From John's original post, "I have found that with all of the on-line access I can get much of my work done without all of the travel and wasted time running around the County Buildings." Again, I presumed John was referencing counties in your area.
Yes, this thread began thread began as a complaint against cut-throat pricing. It also began as a question of the ethics of some abstractors cutting prices for counties outside their outside their own areas. The source for both are the online records and those who use them outside their own areas.
I think we share the same concerns. The methods you use, or the fees you charge in your area do not concern me. I am sure neither the fees or methods I use in my area are of little concern to you. I believe we are both concerned with the fees and methods used by those who enter our communites with claims of lower fees and "better" methods. The only method available to those outside your area is online access. Their greatest concern is that their methods may be exposed as inaccurate, incomplete and dangerous to the community and their own clients.
