One new way that some have of getting around the "do-not call list" is when businesses ask for your phone number when you are buying something. This creates what is referred to as a busuness relationship between you and them, which gets around the  do not call rules , so you open your self up for the calls to start once again. When they ask , just say no thanks and you will still have your evening dinner without all the phone calls.
