Actually I believe the independent will be the one to survive. Who do the VM's contract their work out to, independents. I've heard from several VM conpanies that they prefer to work with the ma and pa companies over the big conglomerates. Also I know of at least one VM company that's turn around on abstractors is crazy. The office doesn't have more than 5 years combined experience between all the abstractors. I can't tell you how many times we've seen a new abstractor being trained in the last year, in the same county. Little scary. It's the independents that have the experience. So no, I don't believe the independents will die out.
