I agree with you. I have no problem with hyphenated names personally, but they are a pain as an abstractor. I've run into situations where the husband has hyphenated his name, and worse, where they have blended their names. It would be nice if on marriage certificates there was a line for both parties to enter the name they planned on using. If they changed their minds later, they should go to probate court and file for a name change. It used to be so simple, but I doubt we will ever get back to doing things by the book.
