Proposing A Ratings Bonanza! - Jason Sheppard/PA
11/1/2005 1:47:40 PM (3204 views)

Hi Everyone!

Since being a member of SOT, I have rated two companies, as that is all I have had professional dealings with who are members of SOT. I have noticed that not everyone is utilizing the feature or maybe, just do not work with one another. The rating system on SOT truly is one of the best and most commercial ratings system in the industry due to the number of SOT members and companies listed. Why are we not using it?

Obviously, it is wonderful to be able to go into a forum and simply ask a question about a company that has contacted you for work and receive answers. Well more than likely, they are listed on SOT and guess what, they most likely found YOU on SOT! I may be alone in this thought, but wouldn't it be great for everyone to rate the companies they do work for, and for the companies to rate the contractors?

I can't think of a better way to simplify the guessing game when two entities enter into a contract of work with one another. As all of you know, a referral is the best compliment a person or company can award. A good rating on SOT should be viewed as a referral as there are many more people viewing the ratings in the directory than one may think. That being said, it would be great to know who the lesser reputable companies are as well. We should start utilizing one of the most valuable, free services avilable to us as professionals of the industry. Just a thought!!!

Thanks!
