I agree with Robert on all points here. I disagree with Jay.  Your liability starts with your work as long as you can prove that you relied on someone elses background, which should be no problem if you keep (or scan) your records.

As an industry and as abstractors, we have to find more ways to serve our clients, not say no to them.
