Excuse me, Lisa, I forget how literal emails and posts are. I meant, I went to local law enforcement and they didn't have the slightest desire to look into it. I contacted the Florida Department of Insurance (Professional Regulation) and they ran me around for days.
In no way was I condoning any of these actions. I am pointing out how many ways the pricing squeeze and outsourcing practices are hurting this industry. It used to be that the Courthouse was an important place. We recorded our deeds there, went before judges, took our county complaints - cities have grown up around the county seats. It is a shame and a crime that all this relatively private and so important information is treated with such disregard in order to get the deal done faster and cheaper.
I wish I had answers (and a better attitude), I don't. I intend to familiarize myself with the efforts of David Bloys (and others like him) and start raising hell.
Sorry, I surely didn't mean to make fun at any of this.
