My 17 year old cousin was struck by a drunk driver on Christmas Day.  She remains in the hospital, unconscious.  This was the offender's third DWI. 

Think about this: If he had inflicted her injuries by any other means than a car, he would automatically spend years in prison and would have done so for the previous DWIs, for which he only received 'time served' while waiting in the county jail for his court date. When will we begin treating drunk drivers as the criminals they are?
