I am like Robert...although it took awhile for me to "cool my jets" so to speak.  My initial response was outrage at the belittling of title insurance....but title insurance is nothing without the examination and abstraction that we all do.  Lets face it.....if this were a perfect world without unthical liars, cheats, sneaks and fraud...and the occasional honest mistake....we wouldn't need title insurance.  I think the bigger issue is that the public doesn't realize THEY have control over where and who does their title insurance.  It could sometimes make a difference of hundreds of dollars in their pocket.
