You have to keep in mind that market conditions vary greatly by geography in this business. What are average fees in one area, may be outrageous in others. I have heard many times that it is common for abstractors to charge $25 for a current owner in PA - that would mean that Jason is not the one undercutting the prices in his area. He may be one of the more expensive, or at least average.
There is a difference between lowering your prices to undercut others for business and determining that you can be profitable at a certain price and setting your fees accordingly. I admit I don't know what the market is like in Jason's counties, but someone half-way across the country shouldn't be criticizing him without knowing the market conditions that he is forced to operate in.
Remember, just because this site reaches all of you, doesn't mean the business dynamics are the same for all of you. I could not operate for the fees Jason in charging, but things are different here.
