Thanks again George- I am only involved with the title business, have nothing to do with the title insurance or any data entry in that end of the deal-so all of my entries in the database are a one time thing- no need for migration  or cross indexing anyway-I can see how that would be a natural thing if I was involved with the commitment/policy aspect of each case I complete. I started transferring to a paperless business back in 1988-89 , took me a while to transfer all those paper files into a workable database, went through a few that were to narrow and a few that were just way over board-settled with a simple , easy and manageable database that is readily available.I have managed to accumulate over 10,000 subdivision entries so far-and it works pretty well, along with paperport, I have copies of everything I have done the last 8-9 years on my computer for easy access. One of the other aspects of the database I currently use is that I can carry the whole title plant on one of the new flash drives they have now with plenty of room for more too- so I can carry the last couple months cases with me in the size is a pen- just to think I was using  a Toshiba Libretto mini-computer to carry to the court houses 10 yrs ago so I would know if I had back work on what I was working on when I was at the courthouse- no longer make that trip , still have the Libretto- but it was a P-2-75mhz , so slow by todays standards- had a modem in it and could fax right from my car while I was driving back to a clients office-that was then- and that's why I was wondering what other systems are being used, but I guess that is not something many are willing to share on here- thanks again for taking the time to provide your information.
