You are exactly right.  I am particularly concerned with the amount of searches we are asked to do in such a short period of time.  I did speak with an employee at a private tax collection firm.  They do approximately 600 (10) year searches between 2 abstractors each month.  The error rate can be up to 5% at times.  The rate is even higher when they account for county record keeping errors.
