We used the old DocuPens for a while and I thought they were great.  It is a disadvantage not being able to see the image until you download it, but it really wasn't a problem for us.  The first week we used them, we also paid for copies -just in case.  However, it didn't take that long for our examiners to get used to them and we never had a problem.  You kind of get the feel for it and you can just tell when you got a good image.  If you aren't sure, you do it again and you have two images on there to be safe.

We quit using them because most of our counties dropped their copy charges to $0.10 per page.  The examiners still find it easier to copy the old fashioned way, I can't see why but since the cost is negligible it no longer makes much of a difference.

Best,
Robert A. Franco
