A FTL is good for Ten years with a 30 day refiling period. If refiled, it is good for another 10 years. But be careful! There is a similar lien called an "Abstract of Judgment" which is a lien filed in favor of any Federal Government agency or department, such as U.S.Department of Agriculture, HUD, and hundreds of others, that is good for TWENTY years, and can be refiled for an additional twenty years.
