Maybe it's because I'm such a "Grammer Nazi", but it has always amazed me that so many people whom I encounter, who seem well-educated and have obviously excelled in their respective fields of endeavor are unable to express themselves in a literate and coherant manner.
It was quite refreshing to read such a well-written letter.
