Lin,

There are quite a few hotel rooms available now, and there will be more in a few weeks as some of the FEMA rooms will be opened up to the general public.

With the financial and emotional boost we are getting from Mardis Gras the city is hopeful that quite a few hotels will be able to hire back some of their displaced staff.

Tourism is the life-blood of New Orleans and we desparately need to get tourists back to the city.  Actually, I understand that the older parts of town such as the French Quarter are pretty much back to normal.  It's a great time to enjoy the festival and the city without the usual crowds.

Come on down!!   You're sure to enjoy yourself, with the byproduct of knowing you are helping us get back on the road to recovery.

Debbie
