I just wanted to set one part of the record straight.  A few replies have mentioned my receiving a memo.  I didn't get the information from Nationwide Appraisal via memo. I received an order for a search with a price $15.00 lower than my stated price for that county and that service.  I called to correct it and request a new order reflecting the revised price.  (becuase we all know if it isn't in writing they won't pay the new price:) It was then that I was told (via phone) that, not only did they require us to cut our fee by 3% BUT that the 3% had to come off of the ORIGINAL price that was $15.00 too low to begin with.  I advised her that our price was XX for that service and that county and I was not cutting my prices. I was then told that I would be refused work for 6 months.  I told her she had to do what her policy dictated but I also had to run my business and I wasn't cutting prices.  The only area I would consider cutting is if I receive 3 or more orders to a far-flung county on the same day.  I will divide the extra cost for that county across the number of orders.  That wasn't sufficient.  I received a cancellation order via fax a few minutes later.  So there is no memo floating out there, just watch your orders very carefully in the future for incorrect pricing!
