Palsgraf was still a landmark case in the law of negligence when I was in law school...it seemed to define zones of foreseeability. Case law is not always that difficult to understand with some exceptions, most notably constitutional law. The difficulty with getting through law school is more a function of the Socratic method. However, as difficult a method of learning as it is, the method does work. We all seem to survive it and graduate.
