I have an older version of Paperport that came with my printer and because of my new computer had to update the Paperport to the new version.  However, my printer is not compatible with the new Paperport - that could be your problem.  They tell you on their site which printers are compatible with each version of Paperport.  See they always having us upgrade our equipment even if its still working perfectly.  That is the way these companies work.
