I did it once and it worked.  There was a company several years ago that had stiffed several other examiners.  When they finally got around to calling me, I raised my price by $25 and told them they would have to overnight me a check before we would start.  They did, the next day it arrived.  I never expected to hear from them again.

They must have been desperate.  I think they went out of business shortly thereafter.
